ARTISTS'S STATEMENT

Hey, nice to meet you! I'm Sara, the photographer, editor, and the artist of this site. I've been interested in art all throughout my life. I've ventured through two different kinds of art: ceramics and photography. Over my years, I have learned that I have a passion for ceramics (even though I'm not that good at it). Ceramics is a really beautiful medium. It's always been a really beautiful thing.

I love toying around with the clay and creating things from it. I've always though that the clay is very symbolic. You can take that soft and pliable brick of clay, and form it into anything you want. If you mess up, you can always start again. I really love that. In a way, it's a forgiving material. I took ceramics in highschool for three years. To me, that's a long time. I've learned all sorts of things during my time and made a ton of work. All of my favorite pieces are from this year, though.I feel like my work really matured. I stopped doing childish pieces and did things that I know I'd love even more. My first really good project was my sugar and cream set. Although it's not a sugar and cream set, I still really love it. Then, I decided to make my teapot look similar to it, because I loved it that much. I'm pretty sad that it was my last project. I guess I saved my best for last.

In the future, I plan to continue being involved with art. I don't know how but, I still really love art and ceramics so hopefully, I'll find my path. Clay is a  material that I encourage all people to delve in. Whether it's for fun or for a career. I will surely help others do so. I learned that my work wasn't always perfect and I didn't always reach my deadlines but, everything always works out with ceramics. It's very forgiving. All in all, art is a VERY wide field and I am very interested by it all. You are welcome to see my ventures through this site.
